Carter's Mountain Family Outing

I cannot even begin to tell you how awesome it was to spend the afternoon with my husband and beautiful baby girl surrounded by the earth's beauty! Fall is my favorite season and I very much enjoy driving through the mountains on a fall day to see all of the gorgeous colors. Usually we take a mountain trip on a chilly day so this 80 degree weather was a pleasant surprise. We have never been to Carter's Mountain, but our good friends told us that it is a staple in their fall festivities so we took their advice. Boy are we glad we did! What a blessing it was!! It was so warm and sunny, the people were so friendly and it was definitely a place to bring the kiddos no matter what mood they are in. Julia had a blast, but Tom came in at a close second to who had the best time. Julia ate her first apple...a fresh fuji apple hand picked by daddy. She is not want to let it go, but eventually she dropped it and had to say "farewell."

After walking up the mountain and picking our own apples, we settled down around a box apple doughnuts (a Carter's Mountain specialty) and a new delicacy in the Burns' house...an apple cider slushie! It was amazing. Julia was very impatient about getting her "sips." The Carter's Mountain experience will leave lasting memories for us and we look forward to returning during peach season as well. I think we have found a new family tradition that beats the pumpkin patch out of the water.

This was the best anniversary yet. What a joy it was to spend time with my husband and baby girl to celebrate the 3 years that God has given us as a family. What a blessing.
